Boletus Placidus 10 g mycelium

Cap: Diameter ranges from 3 to 8 (up to 12) cm. The surface is smooth and sticky, becoming glossy in dry weather. The color varies from whitish to grayish-white or white-brownish. Areas of handling or pressure may turn gray-violet.
Hymenophore: Tubular and porous. The pores are small, rounded, initially whitish with a protective white veil, later turning yellowish, olive-yellow, or yellowish-brown.
Spore Powder: Ocher-brown in color. Spores measure 7–11 × 3–4 microns, elliptic in shape.
Stem: Height of 3–8 cm and diameter of 1–2 cm. It is cylindrical, solid, powdery, or granular in texture, whitish, and may appear yellowish near the cap. Lacks a ring but develops reddish-purple to brown spotted grains with age.
Flesh: Soft, fleshy, and slightly watery; fibrous in the stem. Initially whitish, later becomes yellowish or occasionally peach-violet. It has a pleasant mushroom flavor and aroma.
