The fruiting body is numerous legs, which are connected at the bottom into one base, and caps.
The mushroom cap has a slightly wavy surface, with a small depression in the center. Some specimens have small scales on the surface of the cap. A group of mushrooms forms one settlement, where there can be up to 200 or more individual specimens.
Numerous tubules are located on the lower part of the cap, the pores of which reach a size of 1-1.5 mm.
The pulp of grifola is umbrella-white in color and has a very pleasant smell (the aroma of dill is felt).
The cylindrical leg of the mushroom is divided into several branches, at the top of each is a cap. The legs are soft, very thin. Usually, the legs of mushrooms are connected to a single base.
Spores are white or cream in color and cylindrical in shape. The hymenophore is tubular, as in all tinders, descending far along the stem. Tubes are small, short, white.
The horned tinder grows on deciduous wood, it prefers maple, linden, and oak trees. It is rare. Season: June-beginning of November. The peak is August-September.
Favorite locations of grifolas are tree roots (prefers oak, maple), bushes, stumps, as well as rotting forest litter. Fruit bodies begin to ripen in the second half of summer - July-August.
