The cap is 2–9 cm in diameter, flat, sometimes with a small tubercle in the center, then depressed, non-hygroscopic, but moist, brownish, olive-gray or gray-brown, fading with age to pale brown.
The plates are usually quite frequent, branching, downward on the leg, white, then cream.
Leg 3.5–6 cm long, thickens from 0.5–1 cm in the upper part to 1–3.5 cm at the base, rarely almost cylindrical, with an olive-or brownish-fibrous, whitish surface, bare, with white-pubescent at the base.
The flesh is whitish, watery in rainy weather, with a weak fruity odor, without much taste.
Spore powder is white. Spores 6.6–10 × 3.7–5.1 µm, elliptical, slightly asymmetric, non-amyloid, 4 each on the basidia.
Mushrooms are considered edible mushrooms, but when mixed with alcohol can cause gastrointestinal poisoning.
